A guide to living along one of West Chennai's main corridors.
Arcot Road is a major east–west artery of West Chennai, connecting Kodambakkam and Vadapalani with Saligramam, Virugambakkam, Valasaravakkam and Porur. It is lined with shops, hospitals, schools and offices, and Chennai Metro Phase 2 Corridor 4 is being built along it. Brigade Arcot Road brings a large gated project to the Vadapalani end of the road.
Everything is close: hospitals like SIMS and Vijaya, Nexus Vijaya Mall, schools and markets. Metro Phase 2 will add an east–west rail link. See Metro Phase 2.
Heavy traffic, especially at Vadapalani junction, and ongoing metro construction. Low-lying pockets may face waterlogging in heavy rain; check the specific site.
It is closest to the city centre and already has the Green Line station. See Brigade luxury apartments on Arcot Road.
